I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen. or iTouch 2nd gen.).  Are these compatible with this unit?

The new iPods are compatible and will play on this unit but some of the units can’t charge the iPod.  This is due to recent changes by Apple on new iPods after our unit was released.  The battery life on the new iPods is greatly improved requiring less frequent charging.  We have made changes and updated our units to be able to charge the new iPods; however, some of the older models still in circulation won’t have this charging ability.  Look for the model number on the back of the unit and note the suffix number.  Any model with a suffix number of “E1” or higher has been updated and will charge the new iPods.  For models with no suffix number, these will only play the iPod but won’t charge it.  With these older version GPX units you will need to charge your iPod via the computer using the provided USB cord.  Alternatively, you can purchase an AC adaptor we offer at special savings that will charge your iPod.  Call us at 314-621-2881 and press option 2 for the Parts Dept to order the optional AC adaptor.

I have one of the new iPods (Nano 4th gen., iTouch 2nd gen., or the Classic 120GB).  What bracket do I use?

Use the following brackets for your iPod:  Nano 4th gen - #8, iTouch 2nd gen. - #14, Classic 120GB - #9.

How do I set my clock?

Hold the Clock Set button while pressing the Hour or Minute to set the clock.

How do I set my alarm on my unit?

Hold the AL1 button while pressing the Hour or Minute to set the alarm. After setting the alarm time press AL1 to select the desired alert: buzzer, radio or iPod.  Follow the same steps to set the second alarm AL2.

I have a battery in the unit and have lost power. Is my clock keeping the correct time?

Yes, the clock is keeping the correct time even though you cannot see the display.

How do I receive better reception from my AM/FM tuner?

The white wire on the back of your system is your FM antenna. Make sure your FM antenna is firmly in place.  Unwind the antenna and while in the Radio mode, adjust the position of your antenna to provide optimal reception. This may take some trial and error by moving it back and forth to find which position provides better reception.

My iPod is not responding when I try to control it when it’s docked in my GXP product.  What should I do?

This may happen when your iPod freezes.  You will need to reset your iPod and your GXP unit.

  1. To reset iPod models such as Classic, Nano, or Video, press and hold the Menu and Center buttons until the Apple logo appears.
  2. To reset the iPod Touch press and hold the Home (□) and Sleep\Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. To reset your GXP unit, press the Reset button on the bottom of the unit with a paperclip.
