In the AUDIO SETUP tab, what is the difference between SPDIF/PCM, SPDIF/RAW, and SPDIF/OFF?
SPDIF stands for Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format. This is a
standardized manner in which audio is transferred from your DVD player
to a separate audio system.
- The PCM option would be appropriate for a 2-channel Dolby Digital
amplifier. This would be a Dolby Digital receiver that has only two
speakers connected to it. This would also be the best option when
connecting your player to a standard, two-speaker television.
- The RAW option would provide a raw signal to be processed by a Dolby Digital 5.1, MPEG, or DTS capable amplifier.
- The OFF setting is for when you are only using the left and right speakers included on your GPX player.
